I am linking up my Cape May skies with Skywatch Friday. I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July holiday.
You can click on the individual photos for a larger image.
These are from our most recent Cape May and the Jersey shore trip. It was a beautiful day with a gorgeous sky and weather. One of our favorite spots in Cape May is the Cape May Lighthouse beach.
There is a boardwalk that meanders thru the Cape May park. Cape May is a great place for birding. There are always great birds to see in Cape May. The sky was a beautiful blue and not a cloud in the sky.
Not sure what this plant is, it looks very similar to the Queen Anne's Lace. I liked this shot with the pretty white flower against the very blue sky.
Looking into the sun, I found a juvie Oriole along the boardwalk trail.
Right next to the juvie Oriole, we saw this Common Yellowthroat Warbler.
At one of the viewing sections of the boardwalk we were able to watch this Green Heron hunting for food.
The Lighthouse Beach Park looked mostly empty but there were some other people there.
One of my favorite views of the Cape May Lighthouse.
I hope you enjoyed my Cape May Skywatch. To see more beautiful skies from
around the world please visit: Skywatch Friday. Thanks to Sylvia and Sandy for hosting Skywatch and thanks for visiting and commenting on my post. I wish everyone a safe and happy weekend.

I thought I had left a comment, but it didn't show up...so if this is a duplicate, forgive me! I always enjoy seeing your photos of the places you visit, and appreciate the identification of the birds. I especially love that shot of the deserted beach!
ReplyDeleteI have fond memories of visiting this area of Cape May. Love the brightness you captured in these photos - such a wonderful part of the world to view nature.
ReplyDeletei have never seen the lighthouse from this vantage point. it's so beautiful.

ReplyDeleteI like the shot of the Lighthouse, lovely blue skies to set it off!!

Enjoy the rest of the week!

ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Love those blue skies...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sky pictures, Eileen.. But--what caught my attention (besides the birdies) is that lighthouse... Gorgeous!!!!! I still would love to travel and just take picture of lighthouses someday!!!!

Don't think it is Queen Anne's Lace, which is a very dense vine. Lovely series!

ReplyDeleteI can sure see why you chose the flower (looks like Queen Anne's lace to me, too!) as your SkyWatch thumbnail! The lighting is perfect, and it's a real eye-catcher! The birds are wonderful - great capture of the heron. And look at that dazzling white beach! I never would have expected such a beautiful beach anywhere back East, never mind in a place as popular as Cape May, to be so relatively deserted on beautiful July day. Especially during the recent heat wave! I'd love to see Cape May for myself someday, but in the meantime, your beautiful photos serve nicely! :-) Thanks for the vicarious trip to the beach.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place for birding and skywatching. I especially love your lighthouse image. :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I could transfer the blue sky to Belgium, we still wait for summer !
ReplyDeleteWhat a great set of shots! beautiful place too.
ReplyDeleteLove the lighthouse photos.
ReplyDeleteYour warbler photos amaze me as warblers hardly evr stay still enough for me to capture them with my lens!
What a wonderful way to spend the holidays! The scenery of the lighthouse surroundings is marvelous.
ReplyDeleteI would love to amble down that boardwalk and watch the birds. Great blue skies.
ReplyDeleteI love your angle of shooting the white flower against the blue sky, it is so strikingly beautiful. also love the beaches and the light house pictures. they are all beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI hope to make it to Cape May again some day. I really like it there. Beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteDelightful skies and birds in Cape May! I went to BWI train station last Saturday so sister-in-law could return to CT. Saw minimal tree damage along the way. Amtrak failed to mention on their web site the trees on the tracks in DC, so we had a long wait.
ReplyDeleteYour photos redeem Jersey from the dark den of my own experiences of that state. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, your header shot is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love that wide open secluded looking beach. My kind of beach!
Thank you for visiting me this week Eileen. Between the five days without power and three more storms it's been hectic. We lost power tonight for four hours again. So sorry it's taken so long for me to return a visit.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Love the light house view shot.
ReplyDeleteWhat is not to enjoy about Queen Anne's Lace and each of your images are very nice, but I especially like that one!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your header and lovely shots of those birds the secluded beach and the lighthouse.Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteHubs and his family (from PA) often visited Cape May when he was a kid. I've heard him talk about going there so much I sometimes think I've been there. Beautiful beach. Love the lighthouse.
ReplyDeleteIt is always a delight to see your beautiful photos, especially the birds!
ReplyDeleteThe blue skies gave a wonderful backdrop of the white flowers!
